About Dr. DeLuke
 Dr.
Michael DeLuke grew up in Niskayuna, and graduated from
Niskayuna High School in 1994. He represents the third
generation of DeLukes entering into the dental profession.
His grandfather (the late Dr. Dominick DeLuke) was an
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who built a practice
in Schenectady in the 1950’s. Dr. Dominick DeLuke
was eventually joined in practice by all four of his
sons: Drs. Robert, Donald, Dean and James DeLuke. The
four brothers are still practicing together in Schenectady.
As for his educational background, Dr. Michael DeLuke
attended Villanova University and graduated cum laude
in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science and a Minor in Spanish.
He was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta (the Pre-Medical
Honor Society), Order of Omega (the Greek/Fraternal
National Honor Society), and was one of 50 graduating
seniors inducted into Who’s Who at Villanova University.
Dr. DeLuke received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
from the SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine
in 2002. He was class Valedictorian, and the recipient
of fourteen awards, including the award for obtaining
the highest score on the National Board Examination.
He was one of two graduates inducted into Omicron Kappa
Upsilon, the prestigious national dental honor society
acknowledging outstanding academic achievement and moral
character. He was also very involved in the American
Student Dental Association (ASDA). In addition to serving
as chapter President, Dr. DeLuke was named the ASDA
National Delegate of the Year in 2001 for his work and
achievements in the arena of dental licensure reform.
Dr. DeLuke obtained his Certificate of Proficiency
in Orthodontics and Master of Dental Science (MDS) degree
from the University of Connecticut in June of 2005,
where he served as Chief Resident of the Orthodontic
Program in his final year.
He is presently an Assistant
Professor in the Orthodontic Department at the University
of Connecticut, a Clinical Professor in the Dental Residency Program at St. Clare's Hospital, a member of the American Association
of Orthodontists, and a Diplomat of the American Board
of Orthodontics. He is also the current President of the Schenectady County Dental Society, and an Executive Board Member of the New York State Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. DeLuke currently resides in Guilderland with his wife
Renee and his daughters Gianna and Kendall.
