What's New

Did you know?

When an impression is taken, the mold created from the impression breaks in the process of making the retainer and/or appliance.

For that reason a new impression must be taken each time you need a new retainer or appliance.

year anniversary of DeLuke Orthodontics!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the office on July 6th to enjoy some fantastic Italian ice in celebration of our office's anniversary.

Once again, thank you for allowing us to provide your orthodontic care; we couldn’t have accomplished this without you!

And a big thank you to Civitello's for providing the delicious cherry and lemon icy treats on such a hot day!

Do you use a Flex Spending Account (FSA)?

If so, please take a moment to read about the changes Congress made to your FSA as part of the new health care law.

What is an FSA?

This is a plan offered by some employers. It allows employees to use pre-tax dollars to pay for various out-of-pocket medical expenses. It's basically like getting a 30% discount on medical, dental and vision care expenses, as well as many over-the-counter medications.

What has changed?

As of January 1, 2011, you will no longer be able to use your FSA dollars for over-the-counter medications, unless your doctor has specifically directed their use.

As of 2013, the annual maximum that an employee is able to contribute will be reduced from a $5,000 to $2,500.

How does this affect you?

This will affect different people/families differently, depending upon how much they currently rely upon FSA dollars to help pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses. Please consult your Human Resources department to find out if/how you will be affected.

In addition, please note that both the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental
Association worked very hard to prevent this reduction, but ultimately were unsuccessful.
