Self Ligating Braces
Self-ligating brackets eliminate the need for rubber bands. Instead they have a “trap door” that holds the wires into the brackets. The advantage is fewer overall visits and quicker treatment times. In addition, teeth don’t get as sore and the gums remain healthier during treatment, as there are no elastic rings to hold plaque and bacteria against the teeth. At DeLuke Orthodontics we use both metal and ceramic (i.e. tooth-colored) self-ligating braces
